Bernadette Dezzara (born on February 28, 1948, on the 28th of February 1948 in Ozone Park Queens New York) is an acclaimed American performer, actress and author of children's tales. Bernadette Peters has over her career of five decades, appeared in television shows, films and solo concerts. She's one of Broadway's most acclaimed artists. Nominated to win seven Tony Awards (winning two), she also won the award of eight Drama Desk Awards. Grammy Awards have been won with four Broadway productions where Peters was a part of. Peters first performed on the stage when she was a kid, and later as a teenage actor in the 1960s as well as in films and TV in the 1970s. Alongside her roles on The Muppet Show, The Carol Burnett Show, and on other television shows, she also received praise for her roles she performed in Annie and Silent Movie. In the 1980s she returned to the theatre and became one of the most well-known Broadway stars over the next three decades. Apart from having recorded six albums of her own along with a few singles and numerous album of cast She also appears in the solo show regularly. Peters is also a TV and film actor who has been awarded once and recognized in three Emmy Awards.
